Today I’ll be showing you how to test the RSX cooling fan in a 2003 Acura with the K20 engine in it. If you suspect your fans are not working or having a problem, this guide can help. Left uncorrected your overheating issue can cause your cylinder head to warp, which will lead to a loss of compression. When your DOHC K series engine begins to run warm, it’s best to take immediate action so that you do not overheat your engine. there's no leaks anywhere else that I can tell and reservoir wont fill up frothy or anything like its sucking air.If you have a problem with your Acura RSX overheating, knowing how to test a RSX cooling fan can help. then i went to the cardone brand aftermarket pump, no more intermittent but I feel like the wheel is still 'heavier' than before or I am starting to forget what it was like? I also have done several flushes with oem fluid only and have replaced o-rings at the pump, cleaned the reservoir, new belt. I first tried replacing with a pay n pull ps pump which worked for a while, same, couple months maybe then the whine started, except it does it all the time (hot, cold, whatever), and it's very noticeable inside the cabin at low speed/rpm (not so much outside).Īlso the pump felt intermittent, would work ok then the steering would get heavy. I had the oem ps steering pump fail on me a while back and have ever since had a whine from the ps. I have a very similar problems with mine. Anyone got any idea what the issue might be.Īlso I have changed the o-ring, and just recently flushed the system, problem still persists. I am planning to replace the suspension on Monday. Of course I have no idea what the correlation is between the two, since the whine now occurs randomly, even if the road isn't bumpy. Now I know my front suspension needs to be replaced, and before it seemed whenever I went on a bumpy road the PS whine would start. It usually appears when the car is hot, you can hear the whine when accelerating, but also a weird loud creaking noise when turning the wheel for a turn. Now the issue seems to be back, but its much more random. He simply cleaned the reservoir and put new fluid. After around 3 months, the issue came back and I took it to the mechanic last May 2020. Hi, I have had issues with power steering whine on my car before, and previously after changing the o-ring the problem disappeared. Have a photo of your car for the banner?
